Position: President
Ann joined the KSO Board as secretary in 2001, and maintained that position until 2008, when she was elected as president and served in that role until 2022. She returns to her role as president for the 2024-2025 season. Highlights of her tenure as president include receiving the Illinois Council of Orchestras Award for Board President of the Year in 2019 and establishing the KSO Endowment Fund to ensure a robust financial future for the orchestra. “Ann has been a leading force in the success of the KSO as president of the board,” says KSO Music Director Linc Smelser. “She has given so much of her time, energy and wisdom to the KSO and has led the board with confidence, humility and vision. I have very much appreciated her support of the orchestra and will always be grateful for her unwavering dedication.”
Ann is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Oak Crest DeKalb Area Retirement Center. She lives in Sycamore and is co-owner and operator of Sycamore Antiques with her husband, James.
