Deb Loitz

Position: Music Education Outreach Chair

Deb Loitz, chair of the KSO’s Music Education Outreach Committee, has served on the KSO Board of Directors since 1996. She previously worked as the KSO’s general manager from 1996 through 2008 and has been a jack-of-all-trades in her 28 years with the KSO, from her work with the music library and publicity to serving on fundraising, editing, and advertising committees, among many other tasks.

Deb is passionate about helping youth in our community explore and build their love of music. She accepted the volunteer Music Education Outreach chair in 2022, and feels it is important to nurture and build the love of music in children with the hope it will instill the love of playing music throughout a lifetime of enjoyment.

Deb works as the Marketing Director for Northern Rehab Physical Therapy Specialists in DeKalb and has served as the director of the Sycamore United Methodist Church Sonshine Ringers Youth Handbell Choir as well as performed with the SUMC Handbell Choir.

Deb enjoys volunteering in her community, especially with the music and fine arts non-profit organizations and has served as past-Publicist for the Sycamore Music Boosters, Cub Scout Pack 102, Boy Scout Troop 16 and 2810, and on various music non-profit fundraisers. She is a 2022 Sycamore Music Boosters Music Hall of Fame Advocate Award recipient.
