The KSO is delighted to share more of the success of our KID Project as we continue spreading the joy of music to even more students in our communities thanks to your generous donations.
KSO Music Education Outreach Chair Deb Loitz recently delivered carefully repaired and refurbished instruments to the eight area schools. To date, we have donated 27 refurbished instruments! Clarinets, flutes, alto and tenor saxophones, trumpets, cornets, a French horn, euphonium, tuba and bell kit have been delivered to band programs at DeKalb High School, Huntley Middle School (DeKalb), Sycamore Middle School, Genoa-Kingston Middle and High School, and Indian Creek Middle and High School. Sycamore and DeKalb Orchestras received 5 violins and 2 cello/bass stands. These instruments provide students in need with the invaluable opportunity to learn music on a borrowed instrument, ensuring that financial barriers do not stand in the way of their musical education.
Thanks to our community’s donations, these refurbished instruments will unlock creativity, foster growth, and empower the next generation of musicians. Let’s keep the music playing!
