Violin
Born in Chicago, Sara started her musical journey in 2001 when she started learning to play the violin. At first a fun hobby, music spiraled into more than she could ever imagine: her entire life. Thirteen years later she graduated from Northern Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree in Music Education with violin as her primary instrument. She has performed in many ensembles, including various orchestras around the Chicago area, various bluegrass and fiddle bands, a rock band starting in 2013, and, as of 2017, a steelpan ensemble. She listens to all types of music and plays many different genres, but is heavily influenced by metal, jazz, and classical music. She currently works in Yorkville as the 5th– and 6th-grade orchestra director for Grande Reserve and Bristol Bay Elementary Schools. In her free time she loves to read Spider-Man, spend time with friends and family, and cook.
