On November 15, the KSO filled DeKalb’s Egyptian Theatre with over 1000 local students, many of whom experienced a live symphony orchestra performance for the very first time. The Daily Chronicle’s Camden Lazenby was there to experience the concert as well, and the concert was featured as the cover story for the November 19th edition of the newspaper.
The concert’s theme, “Music from Around the World,” highlighted the way that music can reach across the barriers of place, time and circumstance. “Music is such a universal language. We all need it,” KSO music director Linc Smelser told the Daily Chronicle.
