Scholarships

NIU Student Musician Scholarship Fund

The Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra has established a scholarship program for Northern Illinois University (NIU) music students who participate in the orchestra’s performances.

Six to 10 of the members of the KSO are NIU music majors who add their talents to the orchestra while gaining valuable performance experience. Donors may support these scholarships, and will be listed in the concert programs with a contribution of $500 or more for the season.

High School Senior Musician Scholarship Fund

New in 2022, these scholarships are awarded to graduating DeKalb County seniors who have played in an instrumental ensemble in high school and will be members of such ensembles after beginning college. More information about this scholarship, including how to apply, can be found here.
